A necessary component of any weight-loss program is the initial setting of goals and Bodytrim is firmly of the same opinion.

As previously mentioned, I have set myself the manageable goal of losing 14kg in 100 days, approximately 14 weeks. This is my long-term goal.

Smaller, short-term goals include a specific target weight at the following weekly weigh-ins:

week 1 : 81kg
week 2 : 79.5
week 3 : 78
week 4 : 77
week 5 : 76
week 6 : 75
week 7 : 74
week 8 : 73
week 9 : 72.5
week 10 : 72
week 11 : 71.5
week 12 : 71
week 13 : 70.5
week 14 : 70

I could add other goals like waist measurement or being able to fit into a particular size of jeans but it seems to me that if I achieve the weight targets then the others will naturally happen.

I’m mindful it’s not all about losing weight and that the loss of body fat is a better measure but this can be hard to quantify without the right equipment.

And I have heard the suggestion that because of day-to-day fluctuations in weight – often due to water retention – it’s better to only weigh-in weekly but I feel I will be more mindful of my targets and the need to be “good” if I do it daily.
