alcohol

A drug by any other name but definitely the most sociably acceptable one.

In moderation it’s probably OK but when overindulged in it’s not good. Not good at all.

It’s all too easy for the habit of an occasional drink to become a glass of wine with dinner and before you know it it’s one or two every night.

But I find the consumption of alcohol lowers my resolve to eat well by increasing my appetite for unhealthy food.

My understanding is that alcohol represents totally empty calories because it has no nutritional value whatsoever. And that it also inhibits the burning of fat.

So it’s logical to drop alcohol completely during a period of concerted weight-loss.

I’m sure my liver will love me for it!

  15. Unfortunately, alcohol now gives me hot flashes. That sort’ve makes it easy for me not to drink it anymore. But, an occasional beer seems to make me happy. As you know from my posting, I’m not thrilled with drunk people. I never was much of a drinker. It didn’t help when I was an intake counselor at a drug and alcohol facility, and had to talk to people who were ticketed for drunk driving. Most of them thought it was no big deal. It was annoying after awhile.
