“Give us this day our daily bread” Matthew 6:11 (ESV)

Now I do realise that, technically speaking, a croissant is not really bread but rather a pastry.

But I figure that since I’ll be living in Tokyo for the next 3 months I’m entitled to one last splurge as I’m going to have to live without them for a while.

But I do love my bread. Especially the sourdough that Pablo & Rusty’s use, smothered in butter and topped with a little scraping of Vegemite.

So I’ll need to take a jar or two of the black sludge with me overseas!

I also find it funny that my last meal before leaving home was simply toast. And yet at the airport I grabbed some sushi.

I suppose I’m already getting into the spirit of Japan.
