living water

10 Jesus answered her,

“If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

John 4:10 (NIV)

OK. So I’ll grant that Jesus was talking about himself in the quote above. But my point is that water is the source of life.

So there’s nothing better than drinking pure, clean, fresh, ice-cold water to quench your thirst.

A cup or two of coffee is fine. As is tea. And even the occasional glass of wine or a beer from time-to-time can be enjoyable. But these are all diuretic. That is, it causes us to excrete more fluids.

Therefore, nothing beats water for its ability to assuage a deep thirst.

So I’m making it a point to consciously drink a lot more of the clear stuff each day.

Especially during these warmer summer months and after exercise.
