about

The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences over the next 100 days as I embark upon a journey to lose a significant amount of weight.

The aim is to post a new entry each day discussing one particular aspect of my endeavour.

Please read my disclaimer as it’s not my place to act as your personal physician, dietician or nutritionist.

The other pages represent each of the categories I will post on. I reckon losing weight is 3 parts food, 2 parts mental and 1 part physical.

And this fits in neatly with a different category posted each day using this ratio leaving Sunday for the weigh-in.

  1. Hi Kim, I just came across your blog tonight, and have enjoyed reading what you have posted so far. I have recently attempted a sugar free life, with a few setbacks every now and then (including some ester eggs this week) but like you I would like to lose about 10kg. I have 2 preschoolers and work part-time, I was doing really well with exercise and eating, but when life gets really busy its easy to eat sugar filled foods. I am really looking forward to reading about your journey and your progress and will use it to help keep me motivated with my own journey. All the best.

  2. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, Easter Eggs are a classic temptation but if you treat them as a rare special treat and get back on the wagon it shouldn’t have too great an impact on your progress. The trick is to not throw in the towel just because you have a minor relapse. Good luck. Kim*

  3. What a great simple to read blog. Thanks for sharing all your tips. I know sugar is a killer for me. It makes me cranky and just leaves me wanting to eat more!

  4. Hi Kim,
I really like your 3:2:1 approach! Thanks so much for stopping by and for the follow! I have my own issues with sugar and cook without it. If I use sweeteners, I use natural sweeteners and even those I use minimally! I hope I can help out with some easy and tasty recipes. Looking forward to reading more. Good luck!
    Best,
    Nathalie

  5. Hi Kim, I am really enjoying visiting and will follow your blog to follow your progress 🙂
I am rethinking a post I made about ‘Gifts from the Garden’ in which I include ‘Herb-infused Sugar’ to sprinkle on scones or whatnot. I am going back to my post and changing it or removing it. This blog you’ve created is wonderful and I too am working on losing some extra around my middle. Your 3:2:1 concept and especially removing the hateful sugar. Important. Has me thinking if I can condone giving that kind of gift or doing that kind of craft with a child…… And being provoked in thought is always Good!
    Cheers, Gina

  7. Hi Kim. I just found your blog today (thankfully) I love the idea of blogging your weight loss progress in real time. I will be checking back to see how you are doing…and it looks like you are doing very well. Wishing you all the best, and thanks for checking out my blog too.

  8. Thank you for following my blog and liking the thinker! I also have a foodblog which you may not be interested, because the food posted is too tempting. However I am about to post a recipe on “bitter melon” which you may be interested.

  9. can’t wait to follow your journey! I’m loving Melbourne right now and hope to visit Sydney soon. What brought you to Tokyo??

  10. God bless you, and I’ll certainly pray for your success. God wants His children healthy; so as you look to Him for strength and guidance, He will give you the courage and the will to be able to withstand temptation. Thanks, btw, for following me. I hope my website strengthens you in your walk with Him.

  11. KIM! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I MISS READING YOU! Why are you not blogging anymore? Everything ok?

  12. I’ve been very busy with work and family commitments so blogging had to take a back seat.

But I’m planning to do more in the coming months and especially when I return to Japan in January as I will have more time on my hands then.

Sorry for the absence. I’ve missed blogging too 😦

  14. I really like how you’ve laid out your site. So useful and easy to read. A great ressource! Hope you have lots of followers 🙂
